Rob Hart is a world-class drummer, educator, and clinician whose career has spanned nearly five decades. A Berklee College of Music graduate, Rob studied under legendary drummers Tony Williams, Mike Clark, Gary Chaffee, and Steve Smith—an elite foundation that helped shape his dynamic approach to performance and music education.
Since launching the Rob Hart Drum Studio in 1985, Rob has taught more than 5,000 students, mentoring players who have gone on to perform with internationally recognized bands and award-winning artists. His students include Troy Luccketta (Tesla), Kevin Coleman (Smash Mouth), and Andy Galeon (Death Angel)—a testament to Rob’s impact on generations of professional musicians.
As a performer and recording artist, Rob has collaborated with an impressive roster of acclaimed musicians including Kai Eckhardt (John McLaughlin), John Patitucci (Chick Corea / Wayne Shorter), The Isley Brothers, Stu Hamm (Joe Satriani / Steve Vai), C.C. DeVille (Poison), Larry Grenadier, Dave Ellis, Wil Blades, and many more. His versatility and deep musicality have made him a respected presence across jazz, rock, fusion, and contemporary music scenes.
Rob is also a sought-after clinician, conducting rhythm section workshops and drum clinics for over 38 years, sharing his passion for groove, technique, and musical expression with students worldwide.
Today, Rob is focused on his most ambitious endeavor yet: RHDS Music Courses—a massive educational project featuring over 50 hours of filmed instruction and more than 1,000 hours of video, audio, and notation production. His mission is simple: to preserve and pass on a lifetime of musical knowledge, experience, and passion to future generations of musicians.
